Z&M Cycle Sales was established in 1968 with 3 employees offering sales, service and parts for Suzuki and BSA motorcycles. The addition of the areas first self-service motorcycle accessory department necessitated moving in 1974 from the small building on Route 30 in Greensburg, PA to the larger site 4 miles east on Route 30 in Latrobe, PA.
In 1975 Harley-Davidson sales, service, parts and accessories were added.
In 1987 Honda and Yamaha sales, parts and service were added.
April 1997 was the grand re-opening of the expanded Latrobe store.
On January 1, 1998, Jim McMahan incorporated Z&M, making his wife, Linda, son, Jim and daughter Kim his partners.
In October 2004 purchased property in Greensburg across from Greengate Centre on Route 30. After seven months of construction the new Z&M Cycle Sales with Harley-Davidson and Honda, opened their new location on June 3, 2005.
In December 2012, after 25 years of a very successful relationship, Z&M made a strategic business decision to discontinue the Honda product line.
On January 1, 2018, Jim and Kim added partnership with Kim's children Ryan and Kori, along with Dax Dillman, Jim and Linda's Grandchildren. This officially ushered in the third generation of ownership.
In April 2018, Z&M added a Utah based manufacturing franchise, Vanderhall Motor Works to their Harley-Davidson dealership. This Autocycle addition created more ways to have fun with Z&M.
